Concept

The distinctive geometry of the Meadows site culminates as a bridging element that penetrates into the adjacent urban fabric and establishes a continuity between the public spaces and green areas of the city of Salford. The circular pathways in the Meadows coalesce into a Y (in Greek, “Ypsilon”) - shape bridging the river and connecting with the opposite bank. On the opposite bank the pathway widens to accommodate the increased urban flows.

Πρόταση

Η ξεχωριστή γεωμετρία του γηπέδου μορφώνεται σε στοιχείο γεφύρωσης που εισχωρεί στον γειτονικό αστικό χώρο και αποκαθιστά τη συνέχεια των πρασίνων χώρων με το δημόσιο χώρο της πόλης του Salford. Οι περιμετρίκές διαδρομές συμπτύσσονται σε σχήμα "ύψιλον" και γεφυρώνουν τις δύο περιοχές πάνω από το ποτάμι. Στην απέναντι όχθη το πεζοδρόμιο διαπλατύνεται για να υποδεχθέι τις αυξημένες ροές από την πόλη.
